Each year, AYP provides personal, financial support to current members who seek training that will directly contribute to
their preparedness for more responsible positions in the YMCA. Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded for formal education courses
leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree and/or specialized training programs. Applicants must have been an AYP member
for the previous 12 months in order to qualify for a training grant. The total amount available for grants varies from year
to year but is not less than $10,000.
Announcements regarding the training grant program for the year appear in the July and August issues of Perspective magazine.
Applications will be available on the AYP Web site from July 1. The filing deadline is September 15. Applications can be submitted
electronically to donna@apymca.org, or mailed to the attention of: Donna Kenenski, AYP Executive Office, 12 Broad St., Suite
2-1, Westerly, RI 02891
Grants are reviewed by the AYP National Board's Education Services Committee. Notification letters and grant checks are sent
to recipients by mid-October.
